From the very good 2005 vintage and scoring 92/100 points by Tom Cannavan, "A single quinta vintage Port from the Quinta da Roêda, just upstream from the village of Pinhão. Deep crimson, spices and cocoa flit around very dark berry fruits. There's a touch of curry leaf, and balsamic notes that are dark and subtle. The palate is exceptionally smooth and silky, the plum and blackcurrant gloss of fruit melts into a bittersweet chocolate and raisin fudge depth, a nice zestiness to the acidity extending the finish." From the very good 2005 vintage and scoring 91/100 Parker points, "The 2005 QUINTA DA GRICHA is impeccably balanced, bright and graceful, with lovely flavors. It is quite charming. In a few months, from the time I tasted it in Portugal to the time I retasted it in the United States, it improved dramatically in the bottle, and fleshed out noticeably, which it needed to do. The tannins are ripe and reasonably well tamed, but the wine does have a backbone and structure. It has a lush first attack, but this continues on with more intensity and penetration, evolving well for hours. It also has a finish that is gripping and lingering, and that becomes more and more intense with air. The mid-palate is well on the elegant side. There were times when the wine seemed a little too elegant and understated for its USA price point (thank the exchange rate problems in large part for that), but the fruit is lovely. It expands in the glass, and the wine is so charming, with a certain Burgundian feel to it, that it is hard to resist. In particular, I really began enjoying a certain red berry note nuance to this wine as it aired out. Give it a couple of hours to wake up and you’ll be more convinced." Drink now - 2040.

Dense and structured on the palate, it has an excellent integration of alcohol, acidity, and tannin. It should be one of the longer lived wines of the vintage with 12-15+ years of aging potential and a drinking window extending through 2037." Drink now - 2040.

The palate is medium-bodied with soft, supple tannin, a fine line of acidity and a ripe finish with dark cherries, boysenberry jam and a citric edge lending poise and delineation. There is a nice hint of fieriness on the finish that gives it a little hubris and brio, though not excessively, since that would not be in keeping with Croft’s style. Drink now - 2043.

From the outstanding 2018 vintage, this LBV Port scored 92/100 in the Decanter World Wine Awards and has a dense ruby black centre with a narrow brick rim and cerise highlights on the edge. The essence of this superb LBV is the fine red berry and stone fruit character, wonderfully fresh and vibrant, which bursts immediately from the glass. Raspberry, cherry and red plum, subtly infused with richer notes of blackcurrant and liquorice, dominate the nose. Cedary, minty notes and a discreet redolence of violets give the wine a seductive scented dimension. The fine fruit character reappears on the palate which is dense and chewy, the firm slightly austere tannins giving the wine its typically Taylor combination of stamina and restraint. The finish is impressively long and vigorous, with rich dark chocolate flavours adding a touch of lusciousness and opulence to the intense berry fruit. This is an outstanding LBV, full of verve and confidence, displaying the fine fruit quality which is a keynote of the Taylor style. Drink now - 2033.

From the outstanding 2019 vintage, this LBV Port scored 92/100 in the Decanter World Wine Awards and is deep ruby red with vivid purple highlights on the rim. The first impression is of intense woodland fruit with crisp brambly blackcurrant and blackberry aromas. The nose has a youthful freshness and vigour, the first burst of powerful, black berry fruit slowly revealing undertones of raspberry and cherry, scents of wild herbs and discreet warmer notes of liquorice and coffee. Although the aromas have a sensuous dimension, this elegant and polished LBV displays the characteristic Taylor definition and restraint. The palate is supported by taut, sinewy but perfectly integrated tannins and delivers a surge of powerful woodland berry flavours from the outset which are sustained into the long finish. The character of the 2019 harvest, with its freshness and pure, bright fruit, shines through on this wine.
