The 2014 vintage in Bordeaux was a good year with dank and humid summer. 2014 was a good vintage  for Red Burgundy and an outstanding year for White Burgundy. It was a good vintage in the North and South of the Cote du Rhone. In Portugal no vintage was declared. The Champagne region also produced some good Champagnes which is drinking beautifully. It was also a good vintage in Italy for red wines.

It's a deeply spiced and plummy wine, offering instantly appealing depth of aroma, touched with cedary olive character, but mostly about the plummy Merlot fruit. In the mouth the silky texture, soft creamy tannins and weight of mid-palate fruit flow across the tongue, before a bright finish where pert acidity and a bit of structure pull the wine through to a long finish."
