It was a very good vintage in Bordeaux with a wet Spring and a dry and warm summer. An overall very good Bordeaux vintage. 1999 was outstanding for Red Burgundy and very good for White Burgundy. It was an outstanding in the North and a very good vintage in the South of the Cote du Rhone. In Portugal, there were some very good single Quinta vintage ports produced. It was also a very good vintage for Champagne.

2000 was a hugely successful vintage in Bordeaux with the finest vintage wines produced since 1990. After a poor winter and a damp spring and early summer, the sun shone from mid July until mid September. Harvesting lasted until the 11th October. A vintage for drinkable wines to be consumed in the long term. 2000 was very successful for Red Burgundy and excellent for White Burgundy. It was an outstanding vintage in the North and South of the Cote du Rhone. In Portugal, there was an outstanding vintage with some long living vintage ports produced.The Champagne region also produced some good Champagne which are currently drinking beautifully.
