On the bottle, Corneille's talent finds easy expression. Against a background, the color of green vine leaves, there are strange shaped birds, reminiscent of those found in Coptic bas-reliefs or on Indian totem poles. These birds will never be caught in a net, ready to soar heavenwards, knowing no constraints or obstacles, carrying the universal message of the Champagne they embody, a message of charm and joy.

The 1990 wines are powerful, well-structured and rich in aromas, yet fresh on the palate. With such a balanced structure, this most characteristic vintage should last extremely well. The Taittinger Collection Corneille was produced from 50% Chardonnay grapes and 50% Pinot Noir, mostly from Taittinger's own production from the best vineyards in Champagne. Drink now - 2034. From the very good 2016 vintage, this stunning Champagne scored 97/100 in the Decanter World Wine Awards. The Taittinger Vintage Brut is exclusively produced from first press wines, blended from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. The Grands Crus make up a significant proportion at 70%, while the other selected villages are all classified as Premiers Crus. Ageing in the cellars for over 5 years helps it to flourish. The nose of this 2016 vintage expresses beautiful complexity. There are floral aromas of hawthorn and pleasant notes of pear, kumquat, verbena, gingerbread and white flowers, underpinned by a subtle minty note. On the palate, it releases superb energy; a fresh and dynamic attack with floral tones
such as honeysuckle combined with delightful notes of peach and citrus fruits. The finish is subtle with lovely long-lasting aromas on top of pleasingly bitter orange peel. There is

Wafting from the glass with notes of pear, orange oil and white flowers mingled with notions of mocha, toasted hazelnuts and fino sherry, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with a dense core of fruit framed by chalky structuring extract, concluding with a long, sapid finish."
